‘Cease This Onslaught’: Pat Robertson Blasts Cops for Killings of Daunte Wright and George Floyd

Conservative televangelist Pat Robertson speaks out against the “onslaught” of police officers killing unarmed black men, including the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright by officer Kim Potter on Sunday and the murder of George Floyd by Derek Chauvin last year.

“She shot that poor guy,” said Robertson, who is believed to be a far-right conservative Christian who pursues the partisan line, in a surprising section on Thursday on his “700 Club” show. He was speaking of the former Brooklyn Center, Minnesota Police Officer Kim Potter, who allegedly thought she pulled out her taser but instead held her pistol in hand as she pulled the trigger and shot a single bullet into Daunte Wright’s chest. He died minutes later.

“You can feel the difference. There’s just no comparison, ”said Robertson as he weighed both a pistol and a taser in his hands. “If you can’t tell the difference in one area, it’s insane.”

“She deserved it-” Robertson said, apparently about to criticize Potter before he stopped.

“You know, I’m for the police, I think we need the police, we need their service and they are doing a good job,” Robertson said. “But if you don’t stop this onslaught, you can’t do that.”

“You know, the Virginia police picked up and made trouble with an Army lieutenant and our state police are highly trained, but why didn’t they stop it,” he said, referring to the police who were conducting an allegedly illegal traffic disruption then pepper spray Second Lt. Caron Nazario, an Army medic.

“And this thing is going on in Minnesota,” Robertson continued, referring to former cop Derek Chauvin, who is currently on trial for killing George Floyd by resting his knee on Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds Has.

“You should get him under the jail,” said Robertson of Derek Chauvin, whom he mentioned by name. “Kneeling on your neck has caused so much trouble – the death of George Floyd. It’s just terrible what is happening and the police, why don’t they open their eyes to public relations, they have to stop. “
