Arnie is no ordinary cat. Stray cats have over 8,000 followers on social media under their @erniezjourney account. When Arnie found him snorting under a parked car, he entered the lives of Irene Wong of Vallejo and her father Joe Zwetzroot.
“He was friendly first and foremost. He was a little baby, probably a few months old. Something about him… ”Wong said.
Arnie liked Wong and Zvezlute and could always find a way back to them until they decided to take him with them. Unfortunately, he had a badly injured leg and the doctor said he had no choice but to amputate one of his legs. The operation didn’t slow down Arnie.

“He will come to me. If he can see me, he can walk all the way to me. He walks a little sideways. He sits down and walks sideways, ”says Zvetzroot. It was.
At the beginning of the pandemic, Wong decided to set up an Instagram account just for Arnie. Then, almost a year later, she thought it would be fun to list Arnie’s birthday in his account.
“Oh, I thought it would be cute to put his birthday around him so people can see when his birthday is when they look at his account.” She said. That was a mistake.
You see, Arnie is 9 years old … and the minimum age to open an Instagram account is 13 years. Instagram immediately closed Arnie’s account because she was a minor.
“So I had to say, ‘This is my cat’s account, I’m the account manager and I’m 50, so come on,'” she said with a laugh. ..
Irene started the #FreeErnie campaign. She begged and begged, but nothing seemed to work. Meanwhile, Arnie seemed to love the attention.
“He looks like a baby. He’s in big trouble. He needs people, ”said Zvezlute.

Arnie is now robbing his more than 8,000 followers of the camera.

In total, Instagram closed Ernie’s account for 36 days.
