Abstract of Employees’ Compensation Report now printed
Safe Work Australia has published a snapshot of developments in employee compensation systems. This is the first edition of the Executive Summary of Developments in the Employee Compensation Scheme in Australia and New Zealand – September 2018 to September 2020 – 1st Edition (Executive Summary).
The biennial report summarizes major changes in the way systems are administered and deployed, as well as political and legal changes to employee compensation systems in Australia and New Zealand from September 2018 to September 2020. It contains legislative developments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the introduction of presumptive legislation and provisional liability for first responders and firefighters.
A more comprehensive comparison of the arrangements for workers’ compensation schemes and the differences between the schemes in Australia and New Zealand will be published in alternate years, with the next publication date being in 2022.
The report will serve as a reference tool for regulators, employers, lawyers, academics, trainers and policy makers, providing a brief overview of recent developments in employee compensation and providing information on employee compensation.
