He ‘Deserted His State and Canine to Go to Cancun’
US Senator Ted Cruz is under fire again, a regular occurrence since his role in the January 6 uprising. His trip to Cancun, Mexico only helped lower his approval ratings further, resulting in craters.
Monday night, Texas Republican Laura Ingraham of Fox News lamented his belief that the Democrats have left the working class.
As many were quick to point out, this is a lie.
Hailed by pro-union activists as the first president to have been a strong supporter of worker union formation, in this case at Amazon, President Joe Biden warns that Amazon cannot decide whether to unionize. (Bernie Sanders’ former campaign manager called it “monumental”.)
There is, of course, a drive from the Democrats to raise the minimum wage to $ 15, which Republicans strongly oppose.
Democrats enforce Biden’s $ 1.9 trillion COVID relief bill, which Republicans are vehemently opposed to. Every Republican in the house has just voted against, although it will bring much-needed help to hundreds of millions of Americans, especially people struggling just to eat and stay warm this winter.
For example, staying warm in Texas has been a real problem unless you’re a highly paid senator who can fly to Cancun, as Cruz did with his family and friends when it was tough two weeks ago during a massive winter became storm, power outage, water crisis and in the middle of a pandemic – which many quickly reminded the junior senator from the Lone Star State.

And answers to his claim:

You may think this is funny, but no one knows more about leaving the working class than Ted Cruz. https://t.co/l9qxBehE71

This man flew to a Ritz Carlton hotel on the beach in Cancun while his constituents lost power. Https://t.co/cxf2tYZpKZ

Ted Cruz has literally left working class men and women. Literally went to the tropics.

This is an obvious wrong lie. Some responsibility should rest with anyone who believes it, as well as the Cad who spits it out. Everyone knows Ted flew to Cancun to stay in a luxury hotel without thinking about the cost. That his wife is a Goldman executive. He’s about as working class as caviar

Every Republican in the House voted against:
– $ 1,400 stimulus checks
– Increased unemployment benefits
– State / municipal aid
– $ 3,000 + child tax credits
– Funds for reopening schools
– Funds for the distribution of vaccines
– funds for rent support
– Facilitation for small businesses

Ted Cruz @SenTedCruz fled his voters to Cancun in a blizzard and doesn’t support a $ 15 minimum wage. He literally left the working class. https://t.co/ZInxI5l0kF

Ted Cruz opposes union education, a minimum wage of $ 15 / hour, and universal health coverage. https://t.co/FzIRZ40tbF

However, the GQP is the party that is cutting weekend voting, restricting mailboxes for postal ballot papers, adding a voter ID for postal ballot papers, giving voters less time to return ballot papers, and drastically limiting the deadline. But yes, Democrats are the problem 😂😂

Says the man who left his state and dog to go to Cancun and then blames his daughter.
The modern GOP reminds me of the PTL in the 80s and those who hear today’s GOP are no smarter than those who blindly gave money to the PTL. https://t.co/86lPwruLjY

I don’t understand how the GOP thinks they can sell this Blue Collar Party nonsense if they don’t support a $ 15 minimum wage and loathe unions.
