Texas Employee Crushed By Tractor Entitled To Lifetime Advantages

Law360 (Jan 6, 2021, 8:01 p.m. EST) – A Texas appeals panel has upheld a jury’s verdict that a Lubbock County worker knocked down by a tractor while working is eligible for lifelong labor compensation claims of the district to the award.

In a ruling passed Tuesday, a three-judge panel of the Texas Seventh Court of Appeals in Amarillo found Oscar Reyna, who is responsible for the maintenance of the Lubbock County courthouse, is eligible for lifetime income benefits under the Texas Labor Code. The judges said Lubbock County had not adequately challenged the evidence supporting the jury’s finding that Reyna was “terminally insane or an idiot”.
