The Michigan Workers’ Disability Compensation Agency is asking workers and visitors to wear masks again starting Monday, according to a report from a Fox subsidiary in Grand Rapids.
The TV station reports that the new rules are based on those of the Supreme Court and require face-covering for all visitors regardless of vaccination status.
“We do not want to be in the situation where our listening sites become ‘hotspots’ for the transmission of COVID-19, which will require further closure of the sites,” the agency reportedly said in a press release.
The guidelines reportedly allow attorneys and witnesses to remove face coverings while speaking, as long as they maintain a social distance of 6 feet and other court goers wear masks.
The agency announced in May that as of July 12, fully vaccinated people will not have to wear masks as part of a return to “business as usual”.
