Oluniké Adeliyi, Loren Lott Be part of BET+ Civil Rights Drama ‘The Porter’ – The Hollywood Reporter

Oluniké Adeliyi and American Idol alum Loren Lott are part of the cast for The Porter, a BET + and CBC drama about North American railroad workers now filming in Winnipeg.

Set in Montreal and Chicago in the roaring 1920s, the drama from Inferno Pictures and Sienna Films follows two black railroad carriers who frantically dream, cross borders, and encounter racial barriers on and off the railroads across North America.

One is pushing for the very first black union and the other is chasing power on the wrong side of the law as both aim to rid themselves and their families of oppression. Adeliyi will play Queenie, the seductive and creepy Chicago gang boss whose lavish lifestyle and power appeal to Junior, but at what price?

Lott takes on the role of headstrong Lucy, a talented performer who stands in the spotlight as she battles shadowism and a musical instinct that doesn’t keep up with the times. The Porter cast already includes Aml Ameen, Ronnie Rowe Jr. and Mouna Traoré.

And the creators of the series, Arnold Pinnock and Bruce Ramsay, take on the regular series roles from Glenford and Dinger, respectively. Annmarie Morais and Marsha Greene are showrunners and executive producers, while Charles Officer and RT Thorne direct the series and share the credits as executive producers.
