Rep. Norton Recommends Civil Rights Atty For DC Fed. Court docket
Law360 (Mar 25, 2021, 11:09 p.m. EDT) – Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, DD.C., recommended civil rights attorney Jia Cobb on Thursday for a vacancy in the U.S. District Court for the Columbia District.
The spot opens on April 3, when US District Judge Emmet Sullivan adopts senior status.
Cobb, a partner at Relman Colfax PLLC, is a black attorney who focuses on housing discrimination and criminal justice malpractice.
“She has the intelligence, temperament and integrity for the position,” Norton said in a statement announcing the recommendation. “It also brings the much-needed racial and professional diversity to the Bundesbank.”
