The Day – Nationwide police group helps New London officer’s civil rights lawsuit

The National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers issued a statement Wednesday in support of New London Police Sgt. Ab. Cornelius Rodgers, who has filed a civil rights lawsuit with the New London Police Department for racial discrimination.

The nonprofit group said studies “have shown beyond any doubt that black law enforcement officers are disproportionately disciplined, leading them to lose promotions, lost wages, and face both continued harassment and retaliation from supervisors and other agency managers. ”Is the statement partially.

“It is to the greater benefit of the community – black, white, brown, yellow and red – that color officials are given equal and fair opportunities to advance to supervisory, human and administrative positions within the law enforcement hierarchy.”

The full statement can be found on the group’s Facebook page at facebook.com/Nableo.org.
