Proper Wing Pundit Hammers GOP Senate Candidate Accused of ‘Half Rape’ in Off-the-Rails Interview

US Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) appeared sad and then angry during a Senate committee hearing Tuesday morning when he complained that even in Texas there had been “a hell of a lot” of mass shootings after a 21-year-old gunman was arrested and was charged with the murder of 10 people in a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado on Monday.

It was a speech he gave earlier.

“We have had way too many tragedies in our country,” said Cruz on Tuesday morning. “Once again we are awakening to a terrible mass murder. We all rise in prayer, families in Boulder, Colorado, families in Atlanta who have lost their lives, including the policeman in Boulder, Colorado. I can tell you we’ve seen way too many of these in Texas. I was in Santa Fe the morning of that shooting. Santa Fe High School is less than an hour from my home. I was at Walmart in El Paso for another senseless mass murder. I was in Dallas where five cops were murdered by a radical. I was in Sutherland Springs in this beautiful sanctuary where a monster murdered innocent people. I’ve visited too many of them. “

“It’s time for us to do something,” insisted Cruz, saying he was in favor of Connecticut Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal. But this is where the agreement ended.

“Every time there is shooting, we play this ridiculous theater where this committee comes together and proposes a number of laws that do nothing against these murders,” he falsely said. Mass shootings soared after Republicans refused to renew the ban on offensive weapons. Seven in ten Americans, including the majority of Republicans, supported the legislation.

Cruz continued attacking Blumenthal, saying, “Senator Grassley and I have jointly put in place laws targeting violent criminals, targeting criminals targeting refugees, targeting people with severe mental illness to prevent that if she tries to buy guns illegally, she will be given firearms to send to prison. “

Cruz voted to prevent social security beneficiaries with “pronounced subnormal intelligence or mental illness, incompetence, condition or illness” from holding weapons.

Cruz has voted against preventing suspected terrorists from buying weapons and against expanding background checks. He voted against closing the gap in the arms exhibition.

Then he beat up Democrats for criticizing lawmakers for offering “thoughts and prayers” while voting against arms reform:
