NYU Professor Slams Chuck Todd for ‘Malpractice’ and ‘Strategic Blindness’

Jay Rosen, a New York University journalism professor who is one of the standout critics of his profession, blew up NBC News and MSNBCs on New Years Day Chuck Todd.

“Everything Chuck Todd has ever said about his alarm at what the Republicans are doing is hollow and meaningless,” Rosen said on Twitter of the “Meet the Press” host. “After all this, it is a pathetic dedication to welcome Ron Johnson back.”

Rosen was referring to the news that Todd’s guest at Meet the Press next Sunday will be Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), a far-right pro-Trump conspiracy theorist.

Meet the Press booked a shameless conspiracy theorist, Senator Ron Johnson, for Sunday. Johnson says Covid was a fake and denied that Biden won the election. He’s the MTP’s most booked Republican and has used the platform to spread lies more than any other Senator. It is a real achievement. pic.twitter.com/h1uPctXaEA

Rosen’s timely abolition of Todd comes just days after he wrote an article criticizing the NBC News / MSNBC host on his PressThink website for his “strategic blindness.”

“Three years after Kellyanne Conway introduced the ‘alternative facts’ doctrine in his own program, the light went on for Chuck Todd,” wrote Rosen. “He now realized that the Republican strategy was to make things up, get them out on social media, repeat them in your responses to journalists – even if you know it’s a lie to be drawn into Mixing in crumbs of truth – and then turning any controversy into go-get-em shows with the grassroots as he pays a hefty dividend for the party: added distrust of the news media to isolate President Trump among loyalists when his increasingly brazen actions are considered Messages are reported. “

Rosen slammed Todd for taking so long to see what many had already told him about the GOP, and then continued to ignore it.

“You can’t call that an oversight. It is a strategic blindness that he oversaw, “attacked Rosen, calling it” misconduct “.
