‘Marie Antoinette’ Tendencies After Video of Sen. Sinema Giving Thumbs Right down to $15 Minimal Wage Vote Goes Viral

Sinema arrived in the Senate on Friday with a real cake

US Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, cast the decisive vote against the ObamaCare assassination in one of his final acts before his death by going to the Senate and casting his vote with a dramatic thumbs down.

On Friday, US Senator Kyrsten Sinema, Democrat of Arizona, appeared to be trying the same effect but was not advertised as a hero. Far from it.

Senator Sinema is against the $ 15 minimum wage, and made this very clear when she voted against an amendment to move it forward in the U.S. Senate Friday afternoon. The $ 15 minimum wage has become a rallying cry by Democrats, and liberal and progressive grassroots voters have drawn a line in the sand calling for Democratic lawmakers to make it happen – or else.

Sen. Sinema videos and GIFs dramatically and proudly voting against raising the minimum wage to $ 15 went viral, and so did “Marie Antoinette” on social media. Compare with the French aristocrat whose reputation for indifference to the poor, allegedly saying “let them eat cake”, is forever in history and culture hundreds of years after her death.

The comparison only got worse when it was reported that Sinema had actually made it to the Senate with a real cake:

Sinema just went to the Senate with a big chocolate cake

The cake was reportedly meant for those who worked late into the night after Republican Senator Ron Johnson forced employees to read hundreds of pages of the COVID Relief Act in an attempt to stall it.

But the damage was done.

Sinema against the living wage to let her eat cake.

And cut unemployment by $ 100 a week – taking away $ 400 a month from desperate families, but sure, she says – let them eat cake.

Arizona’s late Senator John McCain gave a thumbs down to repeal the Affordable Care Act in 2017.

Today Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema set a minimum wage of $ 15 an hour.

Hey AZ, I know I don’t have much room to talk, but why is your Senator like this? https://t.co/DD3I0NsMJV

Sinena channels John McCain’s dramatic vote against the ACA’s assassination, only this time to kill poor people. https://t.co/Pd2UlfqTZD

I can’t believe Sinema brought a chocolate cake to the Senate for their enthusiastic vote “Poor should stay as poor as possible”. Is there an ounce of self-awareness?

Sinema was just mocking nearly a million of her constituents with that no after walking into the chamber with a large piece of cake.

So Sinema brought a literal, actual cake to the Senate ??? pic.twitter.com/exL7YTjg9B

That damage got worse after an old tweet was found by Sinema advocating a hike in the minimum wage:

A full-time minimum wage earner earns less than $ 16,000 per year. This is a no-brainer. Tell Congress They’re #RaiseTheWage! http://t.co/gmHYXGZzaT
