Leaked Emails Reveal DOJ Officers’ Horrified Reactions to Trump Allies’ Voter Fraud Claims

CNN leaked emails show former top Justice Department officials reacted with horror after being urged by former President Donald Trump and his allies to investigate conspiracy theories on electoral fraud.

The emails show that former Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and former Acting Assistant Attorney General Richard Donoghue both refused to participate in a White House print campaign to use the division to investigate wildcat conspiracy theories about election fraud, including completely unfounded allegations over Italy, the satellite used to change the voices of Trump supporters.

In fact, the emails show that then-Trump chief of staff Mark Meadowsent Rosen posted a YouTube video outlining Italy’s alleged satellite map. Rosen, in turn, passed it on to Donoghue, who simply called it “sheer madness.”

Rosen also turned back a Meadows request to the Justice Department to investigate alleged anomalies in signatures in Georgia.

“Can you belive that?” Rosen wrote to Donoghue about Meadows’ request. “I will not reply to the message below.”

The emails also show that Rosen demonstratively refused to meet with Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani, who relentlessly spread false claims about Dominion Voting Systems that rigged the election for President Joe Biden.

“I flatly refused, said I would not give Giuliani or any of his ‘witnesses’ any special treatment and reiterated that I will not speak to Giuliani about it,” Rosen wrote in an email after asking himself to meet with Giuliani.
