Jim Jordan Assaults Extremely-Revered Lawyer at DOJ for Being an ‘Outspoken and Partisan Critic of Republicans’

US Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) attacks a highly respected attorney for comments she made on Twitter that he sees as “partisan” criticism of the Republicans, but the examples he cites are massed, if not incorrect, readings of facts at best.

Susan Hennessey She was Associate Professor of Science, Technology and International Affairs at Georgetown until her recent appointment to the National Security Division of the Department of Justice. Her biography there stated that she was a “Fellow of National Security Law in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution and Managing Editor of Lawfare”.

Brookings is considered non-partisan and is, if not one of the most renowned think tanks in America. Lawfare is an impartial and highly regarded website that focuses on national security.

“Before joining Brookings, she was an attorney in the Office of General Counsel for the National Security Agency (NSA). At the NSA, she advised operational elements on information security and cybersecurity issues and represented the agency on cybersecurity laws and related executive measures. Hennessey received her JD from Harvard Law School and her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles. “

Hennessey was also a national security analyst for CNN.

But according to Congressman Jordan, the senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, and Rep Andy Biggs (R-AZ) The appointment of Hennessey’s appointment as chairman of the far-right House Freedom Caucus raises “serious concerns about potential political bias and perceived conflicts of interest based on her previous statements about high-profile NSDs.” [National Security Division] Affairs.”

Among the concerns Jordan and Biggs have is that prior to their appointment, she “deleted tens of thousands of public statements from her Twitter account” and “was an outspoken and partisan critic of the Republicans.”

Jordan says Hennessey was “extensive on the” baseless allegations “that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

The Trump campaign collapsed with Russia (according to sources here, here and here).

Jordan complains that Hennessey called the Durham Inquiry, former Attorney General Bill Barr’s investigation into why the DOJ launched the Trump-Russia investigation, as “partisan stupidity.” The investigation reportedly found no evidence of wrongdoing by then-Vice-President Joe Biden or then-President Barack Obama.

The letter further suggests that Lieutenant General Mike Flynn was appointed and did nothing wrong (wrong) and falsely claims that the “Obama Biden Justice Department” weaponized the intelligence community.
