US Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is looking for unpaid college interns, his office said Wednesday morning, just hours after the news broke, the Justice Department is investigating a possible sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl and possible child trafficking.
The publication published in the Daybook on Wednesday states: “Internships take place during the fall, spring or summer semester for students. Although all internships in all offices are unpaid, the students gain valuable work experience. The hours are flexible to suit the hectic student schedules. “
It adds that interns’ responsibilities will be different. You may be asked to answer phones, run errands, research laws for the member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various subjects outside the house. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a convention bureau. “
Gaetz confirmed the existence of the investigation, but denied any wrongdoing in carefully worded statements, claiming he was the victim of a $ 25 million extortion program. The investigation was approved at the highest level of the DOJ.
