Fox & Mates Host Makes Social Distancing ‘Joke’ About Horrific Crash That Killed 13 Individuals Principally From Mexico

Co-moderator of “Fox & Friends” Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday made what appears to be a “joke” about a horrific crash in California that involved a tractor-trailer and Ford expedition that killed at least 13 people.

“A 1997 Ford Expedition with the seats removed had 25 people inside when the large rig slammed into the side at the intersection of State Route 115 and Norrish Road near Holtville, California,” reports USA Today. “Federal agencies also said late Tuesday they are investigating possible links to people smuggling. The crash happened about 10 miles north of the border, and a Mexican government official said at least 10 of the victims were Mexican nationals. “

Much of Fox News has coverage of illegal immigration in general, and Kilmeade is no exception. In 2019 he railed against the entry of migrant children into the country who then “go to our school system” and “suddenly they are trying to teach children with other children who pay taxes, whose parents pay taxes, the same thing and the other children don’t speak english. “

A year earlier, Kilmeade defended the Trump administration’s child segregation policy, which ultimately resulted in 5,500 children being separated from their families. Hundreds remain separated. But it didn’t matter to Kilmeade because, “You like it or not, these are not our kids.”

“Show them compassion, but it’s not like that [Trump is] do this to the people of Idaho or Texas. They are people from another country. “

On Wednesday morning on Fox & Friends, the crew continued to try to get into the current right-wing conversation, according to which President Joe Biden is “trying to get as many children as possible out the door to America.”

When this segment came to an end, Kilmeade dropped his “joke” live on the air:

“Hey, were those 25 people on the expedition, were they socially distant when they were lying on top of each other when they hit a semi-trailer?”

Kilmeade misunderstood this detail: The police say the truck crashed into the Ford Expedition.
