Fox & Buddies Host Argues In opposition to $15 Minimal Wage As a result of ‘Individuals Ought to Fall in Love With the Free Market Once more’

Co-moderator of “Fox & Friends” Brian Kilmeade argues that small businesses don’t have to pay workers a minimum wage of $ 15 because they can’t afford it and it will cost jobs.

Studies like this one from 2019 show that a minimum wage of $ 15 won’t result in job losses, but Kilmeade appears to be discussing a new study by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that the higher minimum wage will result in job losses will lead.

The Washington Post reports that a study found that a minimum wage of $ 15 would “lift 900,000 people out of poverty and increase the incomes of 17 million people – about 1 in 10 workers.”

But Kilmeade decided on Tuesday to focus on bars that would need to have fewer bartenders.

“It’s the average day-to-day business that can’t accommodate a higher minimum wage,” he argues.

“The bartender who doubles this wage is great in the short term, but you won’t have that many bartenders. Managers will start being hostesses [sic] and hostesses because they can’t host up there because their bottom line isn’t going to work, ”he claims.

“I just think that people should fall in love with the free market again,” explains Kilmeade.

The Washington Post also notes that “the current federal minimum wage of $ 7.25 an hour has not changed since 2009 and remains below historical levels when adjusted for inflation.”

CNBC reported last year, “Full-time minimum wage workers cannot afford two-bedroom rentals anywhere in the US, and one-bedroom rentals in 95% of the states.”

Kilmeade reportedly makes $ 4 million annually and has a net worth of $ 8 million.
