Democrats Demand Barr and Periods Testify – Threaten Subpoenas Over DOJ ‘Gross Abuse of Energy’

The Department of Justice’s Inspector General has announced that it is launching an investigation into the DOJ, which is spying on prominent Democratic Congressmen during the Trump administration’s tenure. These incidents include obtaining subpoenas for communications data from at least 12 people, including lawmakers, their employees, family members, and at least one minor child.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Bill Barr were central to these espionage incidents, according to a New York Times report Thursday.

Among those targeted by Sessions and Barr were Democratic Congressmen Adam Schiff (photo) and Eric Swalwell, both from California.

This was announced by the General Inspector of the Ministry of Justice, Michael Horowitz, Axios.

Horowitz was first appointed to this position by President Barack Obama.

The announcement said the investigation will include similar efforts by the DOJ against media representatives.

“The DOJ’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is initiating a review of the DOJ’s use of subpoenas and other judicial authorities to collect communications records from members of Congress and related parties and the news media in connection with recent investigations into alleged unauthorized disclosure of information by government officials to the Media. The review examines the department’s compliance with applicable DOJ policies and procedures and whether such use or investigations were based on inappropriate considerations. If circumstances warrant, the OIG will consider other issues that may arise during the review. “
