California group recordsdata federal civil rights criticism over San Diego faculty district’s ‘racist’ teachings

A collection of nonprofits in California filed a civil rights complaint last week alleging discrimination against San Diego’s largest public school district for accepting the controversial “critical racial theory”.

The Californians for Equal Rights Foundation, one of six organizations involved in the filing, announced the move on their website.

The complainants allege that the San Diego Unified School District is involved in “unlawful racial discrimination in the process of educating teachers and staff”.

SAN DIEGO SCHOOL TEACHERS OFFER “WHITE PRIVILEGE TRAINING” WHERE THE PARTICIPANTS MANDATE TO BE “ANTIRACIST”

“”[The district] openly propagates racist ideas and theories and subjects its teachers to racial discrimination, “CFER President Frank Xu said in a statement.” Such racially motivated political indoctrination creates racist tension and will ultimately weaken our national competitiveness. We are really concerned about the future of this great nation if it continues down this racial path. “

Lori Meyers, co-founder of another group involved in the complaint called “Educators for Quality and Equality,” added that critical racial theory “exacerbates division and racial discrimination and degrades teachers based on their skin color”.

An SDUSD spokesperson did not respond to requests to comment on the complaint.

The California Department of Education is expanding ethnic studies in the Golden State and in March approved a model curriculum “to help local high schools” design their own programs.

However, ethnic studies dealing with “critical racial theory” have made particular allegations. Critics argue that left-wing programs consist of anti-American propaganda and divisive rhetoric – which they claim increase racism by focusing on stereotypes, praising the perceived victim, and occasionally the victim. Promote segregation.

Fox News reported in December that teachers in San Diego were being offered “White Privilege Training” that asked attendees to commit to becoming “anti-racists.”

In training, teachers vow to “confront and examine [their] white privilege, “confirm” when [they] Feel white fragility “and” teach others to see their privilege, “according to leaked documents received by journalist and documentary filmmaker Christopher Rufo.

Teachers taking part in the training must acknowledge that they live on land – that is, in the United States – that was stolen from Native American people.

The program was based on The Racial Healing Handbook and included clips by Robin DiAngelo, author of the controversial book White Fragility.

Then teachers are told that they are racist and must “uphold racist ideas, structures and guidelines” and commit themselves to becoming “anti-racists” in the classroom. “
