Two brothers from US Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ) went on national television Thursday to apologize for his allegations that Capitol police were “on the lookout” and on Aug.
“On behalf of the actually sane members of our family, all but Paul, we apologize,” they told DC Officer Michael Fanone on CNN for their brother’s despicable comments and shameful behavior during this entire incident.
On Tuesday, during a January 6 riot hearing, Gosar, a white nationalist, asked FBI director Chris Wray to reveal the name of the policeman who killed Babbitt. Babbitt tried to break into the speaker’s lobby, a corridor in the Capitol building just outside the chamber of the house.
Gosar called her murder “disturbing” and told Wray in front of the cameras that Babbitt was “executed” which is wrong.
“The Capitol cop who carried out this shooting appeared to be in hiding, lying in wait and then gave no warning before killing her,” which is also wrong.
Gosar is a leading congresswoman who propagated Donald Trump’s “big lie” that his election was stolen.
